Consultant - Linux Administrator

Location: Uppal, Telangana

Experience: 3-5 years

In this role, the Administrator is expected to support 24/7 as Linux administrator with DevOps. The admin tasks consist of key areas: Implement, Perform, Provide Technical Support, Recommend Support, Create Documentation. The admin must be able to coordinate between multiple technology teams.


Responsibilities

β€’ Expert level knowledge on automation/configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, Python.

β€’ Leadership level of Knowledge/Responsibility RedHat/Centos.

β€’ Expert level knowledge of UNIX/Linux (L3).

β€’ Excellent understanding and work experience in Vulnerability management.

β€’ Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

β€’ Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments.

β€’ Performance troubleshooting and capacity planning.

β€’ Troubleshooting, Installation, maintenance, and tuning of Linux / Unix OS.

β€’ Strong knowledge of server hardware and software.

β€’ Prepares installations and implement Linux / UNIX operating software and associated components.

β€’ Experience in User Administration using LDAP.

β€’ VMware Administration – Virtualization techniques or any other virtualization technology.

β€’ Experience in system security, patching and upgradations.

β€’ Strong knowledge of host-based SAN migrations and good experience with SAN LUNS scanning and mapping etc.,

β€’ Proficient with LVM and Linux File systems.

β€’ Ability to tune kernel/System parameters.

β€’ Knowledge on Oracle ASM and SAN Storage.

β€’ Experience/Troubleshooting TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, NFS.

Minimum Qualifications

β€’ Bachelor’s degree in IS, Computer Science, MIS Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

β€’ Proven communication skills when working with other technical towers to work out issues.

β€’ Must be well organized, thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment, leverage best practices, and most importantly, innovate through any problem with a can-do attitude.

β€’ Must understand various logging methods and security event terminology.

β€’ Strong leadership skills when troubleshooting across multiple vendor platforms and working out technical issues.

β€’ Technical Support & Troubleshooting – Proven ability to diagnose and resolve customer and platform issues in production environments.

β€’ Strong Communication & Documentation – Ability to clearly document procedures, write knowledge base articles, and collaborate with customers and teams.

β€’ Time Management & Accountability – Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively.


Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

β€’ Very good written and presentation / verbal communication skills with experience of customer interfacing role.

β€’ In-depth requirement understanding skills with good analytical and problem-solving ability, interpersonal efficiency, and positive attitude.

β€’ Good ITIL knowledge

β€’ Flexible to work for 24x7 process.

β€’ Excellent Communication and interpersonal Skills

β€’ Ability to prepare Dashboards and Reports

β€’ Experience of working independently & as a team player

β€’ Should have a proactive work approach and ability to think out of the box.
