**What you’ll do**:
As a **DevOps Engineer**, you will manage and maintain Linux-based systems and KVM hypervisors in a large-scale cloud infrastructure. Optimize system performance, conduct regular monitoring, and implement proactive troubleshooting measures. Configure and manage virtual networking, storage solutions, and security measures in a virtualized environment. Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
We are cultivating a **DevOps culture**, adhering to the motto 'You build it, you run it'. You will join the on-call rotation, sharing responsibilities with the rest of the PlusOne team to ensure continuous support coverage and demonstrate your commitment to the role.
**What you bring**:
In addition to a high level of commitment and reliability, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, you also bring the folllowing:
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in virtualized environments.
- Proficient in various Linux distributions (e.g., Gardenlinux, CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL).
- Strong understanding of file systems, kernel tuning, and performance optimization in tuning and optimizing both the host and guest systems for optimal performance.
- Expertise in system monitoring and troubleshooting using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Zsh) and pyhon, golang for automation tasks
- Experience with libvirt for managing KVM environments and virsh command-line tool and libvirt XML configuration.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)

This position is a part of **Global Cloud Infrastructure & Delivery (GCID)** which develops and delivers services for cloud infrastructure and cloud operations to SAP Lines of Business (LoB) and through them, our external customers.
We, the **GCS PlusOne Compute Platform Engineering Unit,** are a globally diverse and innovative team running Converged Cloud, a state-of-the-art private cloud solution. This internal Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform is deployed worldwide in 15 regions to support all of SAP’s cloud businesses on a global scale.
