Description
RDTS is seeking aCleared Linux System Administratorto support a mission-critical IT program at theU.S. Dept of Treasury in Washington, D.C.The Linux System Administrator supports the design, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise-level UNIX/Linux systems within the Insider Threat Platform (ITP) environment. This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure by executing system administration best practices, performing advanced troubleshooting, and collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.
This position isfully on-site in downtown D.C.and full-time with a standard work schedule (i.e. Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm). We are only considering candidates with an active security clearance. Once selected, candidates will undergo an extensive federal suitability review.
Requirements
+ Active Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline
– or equivalent professional experience administering enterprise UNIX/Linux systems.
+ Demonstrated experience managing and supportingUNIX/Linux serversin an enterprise or mission-critical environment.
+ Strong proficiency inLinux installation, configuration, hardening, and lifecycle management.
+ Hands-on experience withsystem monitoring, performance tuning, and advanced troubleshooting.
+ Experience performingregular security checks, vulnerability remediation, and compliance-driven system maintenance.
+ Proficiency withshell scripting(e.g., Bash, Python) to automate operational tasks.
+ Working knowledge ofnetwork fundamentalsincluding TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
+ Experience supportingbackup and recovery processes, fault-tolerant configurations, and data protection strategies.
+ Ability to provideTier III supportfor complex technical issues.
+ Experience documentingoperational procedures, configuration standards, and troubleshooting guides.
+ Ability to collaborate withengineering, security, and cross-functional technical teams.
