Main purpose of position Currently we are looking for Site Cosntruction  Manager in Girardot, Cundinamarca for our solar project  to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.As our Site Construction Manager you are in charge to ensure, through the technical coordination of Project Construction, the implementation of best practices and construction methodologies, including constructability assessments prior to execution. Guarantee that all construction activities comply with the engineering drawings, standards, and technical documents, working closely with the discipline supervisors for civil, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning activities.

Act as the primary interface between the engineering team and the construction team, ensuring efficient communication, timely decision‑making, and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Support the recruitment and training of Scatec's site team, as well as the evaluation of proposals from major construction contractors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve guidelines and methodologies for project construction, focusing on technical and constructive quality, HSSE, schedule, and best cost‑benefit evaluation, ensuring full alignment with engineering.
  • Evaluate the constructability of engineering designs, considering HSSE, Cost, Schedule, Quality, and Risks, proposing alternatives when applicable.
  • Support local project teams in recruiting and training the Scatec Construction team (Supervisors and Site Facilities Administrative Staff).
  • Support the Local Team on site in implementing internal routines for basic site services such as security, access control, office facilities (power supply, water, cleaning, basic office materials), vehicles, and warehouse; ensuring that budget‑control routines related to these activities are in place.
  • Support the Local Team in establishing routines with Contractors on site, including regular meetings, review processes for method statements and procedures, progress reporting, and construction reporting.
  • Support planners in establishing the sequence of activities and durations in high‑level schedules, recovery plans, interfaces between different contractors during the execution phase, as well as manpower and equipment estimates.
  • Support projects in evaluating construction contractors' tender proposals and, when required, participate in negotiations and clarification meetings.
  • Update benchmark database with historical key information for executed projects.
  • Support corporate activities related to ISO Certification and provide continuous input towards improvement and optimization of the Operating System.
  • Support and promote Project Control Activities.

Qualifications And Competencies

  • Formal Qualification (Construction, Engineering, Project Management)
  • 5+ years of experience at site with construction projects involving civil, electrical, mechanical and commissioning activities
  • 3+ years with direct responsibility of managing teams at site during construction
  • An excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Fluent both written and spoken in English, Spanish
  • Availability for frequent travels
  • Experience with renewable projects (Solar / Wind / Hydro Power)
