Nurse Practitioner | Surgery - Cardiothoracic Location: Lansing, MI Employer: Lancesoft Inc Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: 4 days x 10 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Locum Nurse Practitioner – Cardiothoracic Surgery | Lansing, MI | Inpatient Rounding Only A Level I Trauma Center in Lansing, Michigan is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP / APP) for a locum Cardiothoracic Surgery assignment starting February 1, 2026 . This is an inpatient rounding-only position with no OR responsibilities , ideal for APPs who thrive in cardiovascular care within a highly collaborative surgical team. Assignment Highlights • Specialty: Cardiothoracic / Cardiovascular Surgery • Setting: Inpatient only – rounding role (no OR) • Schedule: 4 days × 10 hours • Call: 1:4 rotation (first call from home) • Weekends: 1 weekend per month • Start Date: February 2026 • EMR: Epic • Pay: Competitive weekly compensation Patient Mix & Daily Volume • CVICU: 2–8 patients/day • CVSU: 2–5 patients/day (includes discharges) • Vascular Service: 4–10 patients/day (primarily floor patients) • Average Daily Census: ~15 patients (higher on weekends) Responsibilities • Inpatient rounding on cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients • Post-op management and discharge planning • Coordinate care with surgeons, ICU teams, and nursing staff • Manage floor and ICU patients across CVICU, CVSU, and vascular services • Accurate documentation using Epic EMR This is a high-quality locum NP cardiothoracic surgery opportunity offering predictable hours, excellent work–life balance, and full travel coverage at a premier Michigan hospital.
