Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner Surgery Cardiovascular in Lansing, MI

UMH Sparrow Lansing Hospital is looking for an experienced APP to support their Cardiovascular Surgery team. Position Overview:
This locum position involves a 4-day, 10-hour workweek, with an on-call requirement of one week in every four, including one weekend per month. The APP will assist in supporting cardiac and vascular surgeons, focusing on rounds and patient management without operating room responsibilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting, managing a diverse patient caseload and providing critical support to a top-tier cardiovascular team. Starting February 1, 2026, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a leading cardiac and vascular center while enjoying a flexible schedule.
Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Michigan.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proven experience in cardiovascular or surgical patient care.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage a high patient volume.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Familiarity with Epic EMR system.
- Experience with postoperative patient management and discharge planning.
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in cardiovascular or surgical settings.
- Prior locum or temporary staffing experience is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- Commitment to working the specified shift schedule, including weekends and on-call duties.
- Willingness to travel to the facility (reimbursements provided).
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced and high-acuity patient care environments.
- Valid state licensure and certification credentials required upon application.
