Physician Assistant | Cardiology - General/Other Location: Salem, VA Employer: AAS Locum Tenens Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking a Board-Certified Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in a locum tenens capacity in Salem VA. The provider will work closely with the Cardiac and Cardiothoracic Surgery teams to manage inpatient, outpatient, and procedural care. Key Responsibilities: Provide 24/7 patient coverage, including call responsibilities. See patients in the cardiology clinic and round on inpatients. Assist in the CVOR with the CT surgeon, including vein harvesting and functioning as a First Assist during procedures. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with EMR (eCW). Patient Volume: Approximately 25 patients per day Qualifications: Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Active state licensure in Virginia. BCLS and ACLS certification required. Experience in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, or critical care preferred. Ability to function in the operating room as a First Assist, including vein harvesting.
