Physician Assistant | Critical Care Location: Virginia Employer: Barton Associates Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Physician Assistant for a 84-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia. Starting Apr 6, 2026, this role offers 7-14 night shifts per month from 6p-6a in a medical/surgical ICU. The ideal candidate is proficient with intubations, central lines, and arterial lines, and can work independently with intensivist back-up available. Job Details Location: Virginia Start Date: Apr 6, 2026 LOA: 84 days Provider Type Needed: Critical Care Medicine Physician Assistant Schedule: 7-14 night shifts per month, 6p-6a Responsibilities and Duties Provide independent night coverage in a 28-bed medical/surgical ICU Collaborate with an intensivist who is on-call from home overnight Perform A and C lines, intubations, central lines, and arterial lines Manage acutely ill patients and respond to emergent situations Maintain accurate documentation and case logs Deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with facility protocols Additional Information Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in Virginia Must provide case logs showing at least 15 intubations, 15 central lines, and 15 arterial lines within the past 12 months Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) certifications required Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification - Adult Gerontology (ACNPC-AG) required Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
