Physician Assistant | Surgery - General/Other Location: Lansing, MI Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Join Our Team as a Locum Physician Assistant (PA) in Cardiovascular Surgery – Lansing, MI Are you a dedicated Physician Assistant seeking an impactful locum opportunity in a dynamic cardiovascular surgery team? We are looking for a skilled PA to provide essential support at UMH Sparrow Lansing Hospital. This role offers a rewarding chance to contribute to high-quality cardiovascular care within a renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, with a flexible schedule that balances professional commitment and personal time. In this position, you will work four 10-hour days per week, with rotational on-call duties (1 in 4 weeks) originating from home, plus one weekend shift each month. The role involves rounding and supporting both cardiac and vascular surgical teams, focusing on patient care without OR responsibilities. Your typical patient load will include approximately 15 patients daily during weekdays, with increased volume on weekends. You will operate within an integrated Epic electronic medical record system, providing critical support across CVICU, CVSU, and Vascular services. Ideal candidates should possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient management abilities, and experience working in a high-acuity cardiovascular setting. The position requires adaptability, independence during weekend shifts, and the capability to efficiently handle patients across ICU and floor settings. Required Skills: Valid Physician Assistant license in Michigan Certification via NCCPA Minimum of 2 years' experience in cardiovascular surgery or related fields Proficiency with Epic EMR Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Ability to work independently during weekend shifts and on-call periods Nice to Have Skills: Previous experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center BLS and ACLS certifications Experience managing complex cardiovascular cases and post-operative patients Preferred Education and Experience: Master's degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies Prior experience supporting cardiovascular surgical teams Familiarity with vascular and cardiac patient populations Other Requirements: Must be available to start on February 1, 2026 Willingness to work 10-hour shifts, including on-call and weekend duties Eligible for applicable licensure, certifications, and reimbursements Take the next step in your career by applying today to join a dedicated team committed to excellence in cardiovascular care.
