We are looking for an exceptional Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology specialist to join our team through a locum assignment that offers flexibility, competitive compensation, and professional growth. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive gastroenterology consultation and management in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Perform procedures such as ERCP and fluoroscopy, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Manage patient care during clinic hours and participate in 24-hour weekend call coverage. Cover scheduled shifts starting from May 1, 2026, with privileging processes ongoing. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and streamline processes. Required Skills and Qualifications: Active California medical license and DEA certification. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology within 5 years of residency. Proven experience with ERCP and fluoroscopy procedures; current or temporary fluoroscopy license acceptable, with the permanent license required within the first year. Strong clinical skills with current hospital-based gastroenterology experience of at least 2 years. Ability to manage complex cases efficiently with excellent communication skills. Nice to Have Skills: Experience in advanced endoscopic procedures beyond ERCP. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Prior experience in a hospital setting with high patient volume. Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree from an accredited institution. Residency training in Internal Medicine followed by fellowship in Gastroenterology. At least 2 years of recent hospital-based clinical activity in gastroenterology. Other Requirements: Prioritize availability for scheduled shifts, including weekday clinic hours and weekend call coverage. Ensure all documentation for privileging is submitted promptly; typical turnaround is 48-72 hours. All scheduling, including shifts and on-call responsibilities, are subject to confirmation prior to assignment. Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local laws regarding licensure, certification, and reimbursements.
