Key Job Details – Maryland Anesthesiologist Contract Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel/Contract anesthesiologist job) Location: On-site in Elkton, Maryland (Maryland healthcare jobs) Start Date: January 1, 2026 End Date: August 30, 2026 Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 8-hour days (07:00 AM – 05:00 PM) On-Call: Weeknight and weekend pager call required (no in-house call) Overtime: Offered but not expected Support: MDs supervise CRNAs (3:1 ratio); MDs also perform their own anesthesia cases Case Types: General, Orthopedic, Obstetric, Pediatric anesthesia cases Charting System: Cerner EMR Qualifications – Anesthesiologist Requirements M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology (American Board of Anesthesiology preferred) Completion of approved anesthesia residency Current Maryland physician license (required for Maryland anesthesiologist jobs) ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable) Minimum 1 year of anesthesia practice experience Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small hospital setting Anesthesiologist Responsibilities Direct and coordinate activities within the Anesthesia Department Provide medical management for patients undergoing anesthesia for surgery and procedures Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and verify patient consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitor patients’ physiological condition throughout procedures Perform clinical interventions as needed Apply now to join our healthcare team and make a difference in Elkton, Maryland.
