We are currently recruiting a highly qualified Locum Physician to provide exceptional obstetric care on a 24-hour shift schedule, ensuring maternal and fetal health are prioritized around the clock. In this vital role, you will cover obstetric services in a high-volume hospital with an annual delivery load of approximately 4,690. You will manage both unassigned and private patient deliveries within a supportive environment featuring level III NICU capabilities and 24/7 in-house anesthesia coverage. The model involves a pseudo laborist program designed for unassigned patients, with community providers backing up in high-demand situations. Additionally, you will collaborate with Family Medicine residency programs rotating through OBED/L&D and participate in emergent gynecological care when necessary. Required Skills: Valid license as a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with Board Certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology Proven experience managing obstetric cases independently in a hospital setting Ability to handle emergent gynecological and obstetric situations with confidence Strong communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills Ability to work independently during 24-hour shifts Nice to Have Skills: Experience working in a hospital with a Level III NICU Familiarity with a pseudo laborist model or similar coverage patterns Prior experience with residency programs or teaching hospitals Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree from an accredited institution Active, unrestricted medical license in California Minimum of 2 years of OB hospitalist experience preferred Prior involvement in high-volume obstetric care Other Requirements: Willingness to work 24-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Ability to travel to the assignment location as needed Compliance with all hospital and state regulations for licensure and certification This is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a stable, supportive environment while enjoying an attractive hourly rate of $234.00.
