Doctor of Medicine | Psychiatry - Child and Adolescent Location: California Employer: Barton Associates Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking an experienced Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for a 12-week locum tenens assignment in California starting Mar 2, 2026. This role offers a flexible schedule of 4 hours per month and focuses on providing psychiatric care to adolescents, teens, and CSEC patients. Candidates must have exclusively practiced and lived in California for the past five years and bring at least six years of psychiatric experience. Job Details Location: California Start Date: Mar 2, 2026 LOA: 12 weeks Provider Type Needed: Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Schedule: 4 hours per month, flexible; provider must meet with patients once a month and may schedule appointments around pre-existing commitments Responsibilities and Duties Conduct psychiatric evaluations on each child prior to prescribing psychotropic medication Treat mental health disorders in adolescents and teens using medication and psychotherapy Coordinate patient care with Nurse Practitioner and ancillary providers Work with support staff to authorize prescription refills and medication changes Review and approve course of treatment Prepare written medication reviews at least every 45 days Attend virtual care coordination meetings Address urgent patient issues that arise outside of visits Additional Information Minimum 6 years of experience as a psychiatrist required Must have lived and practiced exclusively in California for the past 5 years Experience working with adolescents, teens, and CSEC patients required California medical license required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required EMR system: Epic Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
