Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Neonatologist to provide in-house coverage for a Level IV NICU in Long Beach, CA. The role involves covering weekday and weekend shifts, including 24-hour on-call duties, ensuring continuous, high-quality neonatal care. This locum position offers the chance to make a difference in a dynamic healthcare environment, while enjoying a competitive hourly rate of $218.40. Required Skills


  • Valid medical license in California or ability to obtain one

  • Board-certified or eligible in Neonatology

  • Proven experience in managing critically ill neonates

  • Exceptional clinical judgment and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work independently within a hospital NICU setting

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills



Nice to Have Skills


  • Prior experience working in Level IV NICUs

  • Clinical research or academic affiliation in neonatology

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

  • Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations



Preferred Education and Experience


  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant neonatology experience in a hospital setting



Other Requirements


  • Availability to begin coverage starting December 31, 2025

  • Current certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

  • Ability and willingness to work varied shift schedules including day, night, and full 24-hour shifts

  • Travel, licensure, and certification reimbursement provided
