Logistics Coordinator – Pricing Department (Freight Forwarding)

Job Summary


The Logistics Coordinator – Pricing Department is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive freight rates for air, ocean, and land shipments. This role supports sales and operations by coordinating with carriers, agents, and internal teams to ensure timely, compliant, and profitable pricing solutions for customers.


Key Responsibilities


Pricing & Rate Management




  • Prepare and issue freight quotations for air, ocean (FCL/LCL), and inland transportation




  • Request, negotiate, and maintain rates with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and overseas agents




  • Analyze cost components including freight, surcharges, handling, customs, and ancillary fees




  • Ensure pricing accuracy, profitability, and compliance with company guidelines




Coordination & Communication




  • Liaise with sales, operations, and customer service teams to support customer requirements




  • Communicate with overseas offices and agents for destination charges and routing options




  • Respond promptly to pricing inquiries and RFQs (Requests for Quotation)




Documentation & Systems




  • Maintain and update rate databases and pricing files




  • Ensure correct tariff application and validity dates




  • Prepare pricing reports and assist with tender submissions




  • Use freight forwarding systems (TMS, ERP, or pricing tools) to manage rates and quotations




Market & Cost Analysis




  • Monitor market trends, carrier changes, fuel surcharges, and seasonal fluctuations




  • Benchmark rates against market conditions to stay competitive




  • Identify cost-saving and margin-improvement opportunities




Compliance & Quality Control




  • Ensure adherence to international trade regulations and company SOPs




  • Verify pricing aligns with Incoterms and customer agreements




  • Support audits and internal reviews related to pricing accuracy




Qualifications & Skills


Education & Experience




  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field




  • 2–5 years of experience in freight forwarding pricing or logistics coordination




  • Experience in air and ocean freight pricing preferred




Skills & Competencies




  • Strong analytical and numerical skills




  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities




  • High attention to detail and accuracy




  • Ability to work under tight deadlines




  • Proficiency in MS Excel and freight forwarding software




  • Knowledge of Incoterms, freight terms, and shipping documentation
