Local Workshop Role | Welshpool

Tecside are seeking experienced LV Fitters or Mechanical Fitters with exposure to fixed and/or mobile plant equipment to join a well-established local workshop in Welshpool, assembling brand-new heavy machinery for large-scale quarry and earthmoving operations.


This role presents an excellent opportunity to transition into HD mechanical work, gaining hands-on experience assembling large-scale earthmoving equipment in a controlled workshop environment – without FIFO or shutdown travel.


This position is ideal for tradespeople who have worked on light vehicles, fixed plant, or mobile plant equipment and are looking to step up into HD machinery. You’ll be trained on and exposed to large quarry-sized equipment, building a strong foundation for long-term HD mechanical progression.

The Role


  • Assembly of new heavy mobile equipment in a workshop environment




  • Work on quarry-sized machinery including loaders up to WA600 and excavators up to PC1250 (and smaller equipment)




  • Mechanical fitting, component installation, and build works




  • Reading and working from drawings, build procedures, and QA documentation




  • Strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail

  • Monday to Friday only




  • 6:00am starts




  • Finish between 2:30pm – 4:30pm




  • 45-50 hours per week

  • $55.65/hr + penalties




  • Approx. $3,000 gross per week based on 10-hour days




  • Local, home-every-night role




  • No FIFO, no shutdowns




  • Initial 3-month assignment with strong potential for extension

  • Excellent exposure to HD machinery assembly and systems


    • What You’ll Need


  • Trade qualified LV Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or similar trade




  • Experience working on fixed plant, mobile plant, or mechanical equipment




  • Interest in progressing into HD mechanical work




  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Medical & D&A




  • National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)




  • Full Australian working rights
