M&A Associate

Leap29 are seeking an M&A Project Manager to join the team in Milan. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting mergers and acquisitions projects, including both greenfield and brownfield transactions.


This position involves managing financial analysis, transaction coordination, and strategic evaluation of acquisition and partnership opportunities within the energy sector.


My client is a prominent player in the energy transition, dedicated to driving sustainable solutions across Europe and globally. They specialise in innovative renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on C&I and energy efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead M&A transactions, including:
    • Preliminary studies and market analysis
    • Due diligence and financial modelling of project cash flows
    • Project management in coordination with internal and external stakeholders across Europe
    • Preparation of materials for investment committees and management reviews

  • Support the selection and management of advisors or partners involved in M&A transactions.

  • Conduct and contribute to market analyses related to the energy sector.

    • Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Transaction Services, M&A, Private Equity, or corporate finance within an international environment — ideally within the energy or utilities sector.

  • Prior experience in corporate finance or related internships is considered an advantage.

  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information.

  • Independent, proactive, and adaptable working style.

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Fluent in Italian and English.
