Position Title:Engineer, Machine Design

Location:

  • 2026: Molex Vietnam – Thang Long Industrial Park I, Hanoi
  • (Housing allowance: VND 2,000,000 per month)

  • From 2027: Molex Hung Yen – Thang Long Industrial Park II, Hung Yen

    Since 2007, Molex Vietnam has operated its first factory in Thang Long I IP. We are now expanding with a new high tech facility in Thang Long II IP, Hung Yen, backed by a $145 million investment and spanning 100,000 m². This site will manufacture advanced products including high-speed connectors, cables, and optical devices.

    Primary Purpose:

    Design and develop automation machines, equipment, jigs, and tools for assembly processes, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and leveraging relevant technologies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Machine & Tool Design and Development

  • Support new production line setup and product launches.
  • Design jigs, tools, and mechanical components for machines or stations.
  • Research and apply new technologies to improve production efficiency.
  • Develop machine concepts and detailed designs.
  • Define technical requirements and collaborate with suppliers for machine and tool design.
  • Oversee machine build, debug, and continuous improvement with pilot teams.
  • Prepare operation instructions and machine setting documentation.
  • Ensure readiness for mass production and incorporate feedback post-launch.
  • Apply Engineering Change Notices (ECN) to machine designs.
  • 2. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

  • Diagnose and resolve technical and quality issues related to machines and tools during trial and pre-mass production phases.
  • Ensure smooth equipment operation and minimize downtime.
  • 3. Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with process, production, and quality teams to enhance machine performance, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide design feedback to address chronic machine issues.
  • 4. Drawing & Documentation Management

  • Release drawings for part fabrication and machine assembly.
  • Maintain updated drawings aligned with actual machine conditions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and tooling teams to confirm technical feasibility.
  • 5. Supplier Support

  • Assist suppliers during machine setup and trial phases to resolve technical issues.
  • 6. Compliance & Standards

  • Contribute to achieving quality and delivery goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including:
  • 6S & Kaizen
  • Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S)
  • RBA & Social Responsibility
  • Protection of company assets
  • 7. Quality Systems

  • Support Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, ISO standards, and EH&S systems by following established procedures.
  • 8. Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Education:

  • Required:University degree
  • Preferred:Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Experience:

  • Required:Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred:Experience in manufacturing or automation/machine design (e.g., Automation Engineer, Machine Design Engineer), including automation machine or robot design.
  • Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read and create technical drawings
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in automation machine and jig design (NX, Inventor, etc.)
  • Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good English communication; Japanese language is an advantage
  • High integrity, initiative, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and share knowledge
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and overtime when required
