Job Description

Machine Setup and Calibration

Set up CNC and VMC machines based on the specifications of the part to be produced.

Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and attachments.

Calibrate machines and verify settings to ensure accuracy in machining.

Reading and Interpreting Blueprints

Analyze technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD models to understand the dimensions and tolerances required.

Translate these specifications into machine commands or modify CNC programs as needed.

Programming and Operation

Input CNC or VMC machine programs using G-code or M-code, or select the correct program for specific tasks.

Execute programs, monitor machine operations, and make real-time adjustments to optimize performance and accuracy.

Quality Control and Inspection

Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet industry standards and quality control specifications.

Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify tolerances.

Document inspection results and work with quality assurance if rework is needed.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Conduct routine maintenance on CNC and VMC machines to ensure optimal operation and longevity.

Identify machine malfunctions and troubleshoot issues related to the equipment, programs, or settings.

Coordinate with maintenance teams to repair or replace parts when necessary.
