Title: Machine Operator Pay: $20/hrShift: M-F, 8am -4:30pm - occasional SaturdaysPosition Summary:Machine operators complete a variety of maintenance development and operation tasks that promote the efficient production of our manufacturing facility. Machine operators have the primary responsibility for material handling product stacking packaging distribution of preprinted inserts and printed products. They maintain a continual focus on safety and injury prevention for their cells and coworkers, immediately addressing or bringing to management any unsafe conditions that are identified.Operators (post-press equipment including but not limited to stackers, inserters, stitchers, coaters, stretch wrapper, tabbers, heat shrink wrappers, and binding equipment, folders, cutters).ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:-Wrap finished product using an automated stretch wrap machine.-Bind bookstacks, Stitch collated printer spreads.-Fold printed letters, cards, brochures, newsletters, etc.-Operate and perform preventative maintenance of post-press equipment including but not limited to stackers, inserters, stitchers, coaters, stretch wrapper, tabbers, heat shrink wrappers, and binding equipment, folders, cutters.-Performs quality checks and ensures product is complete, accurate and defect free.-Completes job paperwork by jobbing in and out of company provided MIS.-Always keeps equipment and work area clean.-Strong attention to details, consistently checking for inaccuracy, errors, imperfections in print quality, images and data placement against project provided proofs.-Adaptable and flexible with production operations and schedule.-Brings relevant issues affecting quality and service to the attention of management in a timely fashion.-Communicates and collaborates effectively while striving for the highest possible outcomes for customers and our organization.-Reads and interprets work orders, measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers and gages.-Works proactively to identify problems and craft creative solutions to be presented to management for approvals.-Additional duties as assigned.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:· Strong sense of urgency, team oriented, good communicator, and adaptable.· Able to work weekday and weekend overtime as requested.· High School diploma or GED· Multi-Tasking, Standing, Pushing and Pulling Materials.· Oral communication skills, Written communication skills, Organizational skills, Lifting materials up to 50lbs.· Experience proficiently operating and maintaining various pieces of stacking, inserting, and binding equipment, with strong adaptability, flexibility, attention to detail, and focus on quality.· Good attendance record required.· Ability to read and interpret all related paperwork.· Ability work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision· Maintain a continual focus on safety and injury prevention for self and co-workers, immediately addressing or bringing to management any unsafe conditions that are identified.· Retrieve production materials and place them in the appropriate locations using material moving equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks and dollies in a safe manner.· Build skids of product evenly and accurately according to required quantities.EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:High School or GEDThe candidate must have six (6) months minimum experience in manufacturing production or similar exposure; the ability to operate industrial machinery, systems and Work around moving equipment; the employee must also have the ability to receive and enter data on computers; the desire and motivation to work in a team-based environment; be able to wear safety equipment such as ear plugs, eye protection and steel-toe boots; have the ability to stand on a concrete floor for 8 to 12 hours/day.Must have flexibility and be able to work multiple shifts if necessary or rotate from first to second shift as needed.On the job training conducted, previous experience preferred.Accomplishes manufacturing and organization mission by completing related results as needed; arrange machine at the beginning of work procedures to ensure that everything is in order; test the machine before main work begins to be sure that it’s in good condition for production; clean up machine parts after every work procedure; perform repetitive.
