We provide installation, commissioning, training, and national after-sales support for a wide range of machinery used in steel fabrication and manufacturing.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site role is based in Adelaide, SA. The Machine Tool Service Technician will be responsible for maintenance, installation, diagnostics, and repair of industrial machinery. The position involves mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, commissioning new machines, supporting customers with operational training (including software), and maintaining accurate service reports. Frequent travel is required — typically 4 days to a maximum of 2 weeks per trip.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and breakdown maintenance on CNC lasers, pressbrakes, bandsaws and industrial machinery
• Install and commission new machines at customer sites
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and software-related issues
• Troubleshoot faults to minimise downtime and restore operation efficiently
• Provide operator training on machine use, safety, and software systems
• Maintain clear service records, reports, and documentation
• Communicate professionally with customers and represent IMS on-site
• Follow all safety, PPE, and site compliance requirements

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience servicing, maintaining, or repairing industrial or CNC machinery
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic)
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks on customer sites
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer literacy for reporting and software use
• Ability and willingness to travel interstate for service work (4 days to 2 weeks per trip)
