Machinist, Maintenance

• Plans machining by reviewing/studying work orders, fabrication drawings, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
• Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for correct stock; verifying receipt of stock
• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.  Programs CNC machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, calculates requirements for proper feeds, and speeds for the material being machined
