Machinist General

**Description:** Plans sequence of machining operations, determines proper machines to be used and produces parts from start to finish, utilizing machinery available so that the number of setups and operations performed are held to a minimum. This classification requires the regular performance of typical distinguishing duties set forth in job descriptions established for three or more of the following classifications:
Machinist – Jig Borer/Horizontal Boring Mill
Machinist – Lathe
Machinist – Milling Machine
Machinist – Numerically Controlled Milling Machine
Grinder – Precision Parts/Tool & Cutter
PERFORMS SUCH RELATED DUTIES AS:
Operates various types of computer numerically controlled machines.

Performs rework of the level of difficulty of the operations described above.
