Overview

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes to produce high-precision components. This role requires machining knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret drawings and control tight tolerances. The machinist ensures all parts meet quality standards, efficiency, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines with minimal supervision according to Work Instructions and Tooling List.
  • Install, setup and adjust tooling offset, setup fixtures, work holding, and machine offsets.
  • Meet daily production targets with consistent part quality.

  • Load programs and prove out new FAI jobs safely.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues where applicable and communicate with supervisor, CADCAM programmers, and quality inspectors to resolve issues.
