Job Description
macOS Screen Sharing / Dual Monitor Display Bug – Need Remote Fix (Tailscale + SSH)
Description:
I'm experiencing a macOS Screen Sharing issue after connecting two external monitors to my remote Mac.
The remote desktop renders extremely small (thumbnail-sized) inside a black canvas, mouse input is unusable, and I cannot click on anything in the remote session. This appears to be a known macOS dual-monitor / scaling / WindowServer issue.
Important details:
• macOS (Apple Silicon)
• Dual external monitors connected
• Accessing remotely via Screen Sharing
• Network access via Tailscale
• Mouse & toolbar are inaccessible
• Issue persists across reconnects
• This started immediately after adding the second monitor
I understand this likely requires:
• SSH access
• Restarting / resetting WindowServer
• Correcting display scaling, Spaces, and resolution mismatches
• Possibly adjusting display...
