Job Description:
  • The Mainframe CICS Systems Programmer is responsible for the installation, customization, maintenance, and support of IBM CICS Transaction Server environments on z/OS.
  • This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability of CICS systems while supporting application teams, integrations, and disaster recovery initiatives.
    • Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and execute installations, upgrades, and migrations of IBM CICS Transaction Server across multiple versions.
  • Customize CICS regions, including system initialization parameters, resource definitions, and startup JCL.
  • Apply IBM maintenance such as PTFs and APARs using SMP/E.
  • Provide expert-level support for CICS production and development environments.
  • Analyze CICS system and transaction dumps, traces, logs, and messages to identify root causes.
