As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performance and tuning of mainframe environment, responsible for WLM (Workload Manager) administration, responsible for Thruput Manager administration, Responsible for technical assistance during performance issues, responsible for LPDEFs, responsible for setting up performance health checks, setting up weekly and monthly meetings with senior management and LOBs, building performance reporting with IzPCA, responsible for DASD tuning, responsible for IzPCA Administration etc..

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Must have 6 plus years of experience in the following areas:
  • Experience with performance tuning of systems, practicing capacity planning activity during system up-gradation and pro-actively managing capacity planning on regular basis.
  • Workload Manager (WLM) Administration and set up and Thruput Manager (TM) Administration and set up
  • Clear understanding about SMF and analyzing and drawing insights from SMF data Processing.
  • Performance tuning of JAVA, JES, CICS, DB2, IMS subsystems and z/OS operating system
  • DASD Subsystem tuning
  • Real-time monitoring by using BMC’s Mainview or IBM’s OMEGAMON
  • SMF data processing by using MICS, MXG and SAS
  • Able to extract data from TDS or IzPCA for performance analysis
  • Hands on Experiences with navigation, debugging and monitoring with tools such as RMF(I, II, III) or Omegamon or TMON or BMC Mainview.
  • Strobe Execution and analysis
  • Able to manage LPDEFs, Group Caps, Hard Caps, Soft Caps & Absolute Capping etc..
  • Capacity trending analysis and Workload Analysis with historical SMF data and making recommendations
  • Mainframe Infrastructure performance analysis with historical SMF data to identify exceptions and issues and making recommendations to resolve
  • Setting up Infrastructure health checks for monitoring systems, identifying exceptions, and resolving them before they impact our customers
  • Experiences with tools such as CP3000, zPCR and zTPM are added advantage.


Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Expertise in utilizing tools like SAS, MICS, IZPCA, TDS,RMF (Resource Measurement Facility), WLM (Workload Manager), and other performance monitoring utilities.
  • Large enterprise organizations relying heavily on mainframe systems for mission-critical applications.
  • Collaborative work with other system programmers, application developers, and system operators to address performance issues.
  • On-call responsibilities for resolving critical performance issues outside of regular working hours.
