Maintenance Electrician

Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical Maintenance & Repair:
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical faults in wiring, lighting, fans, power sockets, and other electrical equipment.
• Ensure uninterrupted power supply and proper functioning of generators, inverters, and UPS systems.
• Troubleshoot and fix short circuits, voltage fluctuations, and power failures.
• Installation & Upgradation:
• Install and maintain new electrical wiring, switches, and outlets across the campus.
• Upgrade and modify electrical panels, fixtures, and systems as required.
• Ensure proper earthing and load distribution to prevent electrical hazards.
• Preventive Maintenance & Safety Compliance:
• Conduct routine electrical inspections to prevent failures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and electrical load usage.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and report hazards immediately.
• Emergency Handling:
• Respond to electrical emergencies promptly and restore power supply.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for major repairs and upgrades.
• Collaboration & Support:
• Assist in electrical setup for events, workshops, and college functions.
• Work closely with other maintenance staff to ensure overall infrastructure upkeep.
• Support other maintenance activities as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an educational institution.
• Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and control panels.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical faults.
• Knowledge of generators, inverters, and power backup systems.
• Other Skills:Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.

Work Conditions:

• Working hours: As per college policy (with occasional overtime for emergencies).
• May require working on weekends or holidays as per institutional needs.
