As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be part of a team that keeps essential water systems operating efficiently and safely, while contributing to Jacobs’ mission of creating a more connected and resilient world.

This role is not just about fixing equipment—it’s about optimizing performance, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. You’ll work on preventive maintenance programs, troubleshoot complex systems, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement innovative solutions. Your work will directly impact the delivery of clean water and wastewater services to communities across Puerto Rico.

What you’ll do

  • Review and advice to PM all maintenance schedules for pumps, valves, pipelines, and treatment systems.
  • Review and advice to PM current maintenance strategies.
  • Monitor operational data using SCADA and other digital tools.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
  • Ensure maintenance activities meet EPA, OSHA, and Puerto Rico environmental standards.
  • Respond promptly to equipment failures and system disruptions.
  • Support contingency planning for critical infrastructure.
  • Work closely with project engineers, operators, and contractors.
  • Provide input during design, installation, and commissioning of new systems.
  • Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  • 5+ years in water/wastewater facility maintenance or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability, knowledge of pumps, motors, PLCs, and hydraulic systems.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred; OSHA safety training a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred for local coordination.

    Posted Salary Range: Minimum 72,200.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper 98,000.00

    The base salary range for this position is $72,200.00 to $98,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
