POSITION

Full-time position for a Calibration Technician is available in Cairns 4870, QLD

REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

You are required to have at least a relevant AQF Diploma or above and at least 1 year of relevant work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the Calibration Technician is to ensure the accuracy and reliability of scientific instruments and equipment through the calibration process. This position requires technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and adherence to established standards and procedures. The Calibration Technician is responsible for calibrating, adjusting, and maintaining a wide range of instruments to ensure they meet industry standards and customer requirements.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Perform calibration procedures on various types of instruments and equipment, including but not limited to electronic, mechanical, dimensional, and pressure instruments.
  • Ensure that all calibrations are performed accurately and within specified tolerances, adhering to established procedures and standards.
  • Prepare detailed calibration reports, documenting all test results, procedures, and equipment information. Maintain accurate and organized records of calibration activities.
  • Set up instruments for calibration, ensuring proper connections and environmental conditions. Conduct tests and measurements to verify instrument performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with instruments during the calibration process. Collaborate with the technical team to determine appropriate repairs or adjustments needed to meet calibration standards.
  • Adhere to relevant quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the calibration process. Stay updated on advancements in calibration techniques and best practices.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks on calibration equipment to ensure its proper functioning and longevity. Identify and report any equipment issues or malfunctions.
  • Monitor and track calibration standards, equipment, and spare parts inventory levels.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Interact with customers to understand their calibration requirements, address inquiries, and provide technical support. Maintain professional and effective communication throughout the calibration process.
  • Undertake additional administrative tasks as needed
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the workshop/office area

SALARY

Annual salary of $70,000 - $80,000 based on experience.
