Job Description
As the Maintenance Planner, reporting to the Senior Planner, you will play a critical role in developing, coordinating, and executing effective maintenance plans and schedules that support operational requirements, safety standards, and long-term asset performance. You will work closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams, ensuring that heavy vehicles (HV), light vehicles (LV), automotive, and autonomous equipment are managed effectively and maintenance work is prioritised according to operational requirements. This opportunity is suited to planners with experience across HV, LV, automotive, or mixed fleet environments and offers the chance to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, drive best practice, and deliver key maintenance objectives, including:
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with maintenance and operations teams to plan both short-term and long-term maintenance activities
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules, servicing programs, and shutdown planning for mobile fleets
- Ensure maintenance plans comply with safety and operational procedures
- Plan and organise resources, materials, and labour to ensure smooth execution of maintenance tasks
- Track equipment service intervals, components, and maintenance records to maintain fleet readiness
- Support safe work practices through risk assessments, job planning, and clear communication
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and fleet performance
- Assist in adopting new technologies and sustainable practices where relevant
- Extensive maintenance planning knowledge
- Strong SAP experience - critical for planning, work orders, and reporting
- Proven mobile maintenance experience
- Experience in fleet-specific maintenance ; must be adaptable to changing priorities and operational needs
- Trade qualification (e.g., Heavy Diesel, Automotive, or similar)
- Strong understanding of safe and efficient maintenance practices
- Experience using planning and reporting tools, such as Excel or MS Project
- Ability to interpret maintenance metrics and make informed planning decisions
