Maintenance Superintendent - Mobile Maintenance

Work Location: Cloudbreak - Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples

Roster: 4D/3R/4D/3R/4D/3R/8D/6R - FIFO

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager - Mobile Maintenance, this position is a key leadership role for Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine supporting the mobile maintenance teams, responsible for leading and mentoring a team of trades-based personnel to safely deliver world class availability and reliability. The key to success in this role is willingly and consistently promoting excellence through application of values and visual leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and review asset management standards and strategies for maintenance systems to comply with Fortescue and statutory requirements
  • Build the technical knowledge within the team, to deliver sustainable, reliability and availability performance
  • Lead and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA, CI, DE process) investigations for product performance issues
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the site teams on all reliability and performance concerns
  • Initiate and develop maintenance projects to gain and sustain reliability in our fleet (In conjunction with dept. leadership team)
  • Assist and mentor Supervisors to ensure planned and unplanned work is executed successfully
  • Maintain on and offsite shut work in conjunction with LTP and major on condition components
  • Attend weekly planned meeting, ensure work is planned in line up with availability drivers

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a Superintendent role or seconded position of similar disciplines, 5+ years as a supervisor or coordinator role or similar leadership position
  • Sound experience in people management and negotiating
  • Sound experience in developing and leading a Safety Leadership culture and working with safety management systems
  • High level communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • High level & demonstrable skills and ability to manage department budgets
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and continual improvement
  • Experience developing maintenance initiatives or projects
  • WHS Statutory Mining Supervisor course certification
  • Minimum qualification of a relevant trade
  • Post trade training/education or degree
  • Cert 4 Frontline leadership and development
