As a key part of the leadership team you will be accountable for the development and management of your team to provide best practice maintenance services to Aquila Mine. In addition, you will be responsible for reliable asset performance, including management, development and execution of maintenance and planning services for Aquila underground to establish maximum efficiencies, utilisation, and availability. Direct reports include Condition Monitoring Officer, Reliability Engineers and Belt Installations Coordinators.

 Your role will be providing technical support and advice to the Maintenance team and Manager Maintenance & Engineering on means to optimise equipment availability and reliability. This is achieved through the effective leadership of the engineering and planning team and Process Coordinators to develop and implement plans, monitor performance, and complete work activities in accordance with corporate policy and procedures.

You will display strong leadership while providing mentoring to your team of trades personnel whilst managing the overall safety and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance of equipment across the site. You will have a desire to collaborate and innovate to continuously improve performance and processes to optimise the equipment availability and reliability.

You will be key in the delivery of:

  • Establishing and sustaining a work management system and implementing engineering projects that make efficient use of the maintenance resources
  • Establishment, implementation and monitoring of strategies, systems and standards that optimise the management of equipment to meet the legislative and statutory requirements and the business goals.
  • Deliver reliable asset performance, through monitoring, reporting and interpreting machine health
  • Close collaboration with the Mining Department and OEMs to ensure integration with production processes and methods and to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Development and leadership of a team of people to provide best practice maintenance services to Aquila Mine.
  • The management, development and execution of maintenance and planning services for Aquila underground to establish maximum efficiencies, utilisation and availability.
  • Implementation of maintenance shutdown short interval control process
  • Qualifications:
  • A minimum electrical or mechanical trade qualification along with your demonstrated experience within an underground coal mining environment are essential to the role.
  • Experience working with Underground Mining Machinery
  • S1, S2, S3 & G2 qualifications
  • The ability to work well under pressure and respond accordingly
  • Sound communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Sound experience in MS Office applications。
  • Full understanding of OHS issues relating to mine safety.
  • Experience in maintenance software applications
