Our Rare Earths deposit in Mt Weld, Western Australia, is acknowledged as one of the highest-grade Rare Earths mine in the world– so you’re joining a very unique team! As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines.

An opportunity exists for an experienced Maintenance (Mechanical) Supervisor to join Lynas Rare Earths. This position plays a vital role in ensuring reliable plant performance and safe, efficient maintenance operations across site facilities. This is a FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster. Prior experience with the following processes would be highly regarded:

  • Sizer
  • SAG ad Ball Mills
  • Flotation
  • Water Treatment

As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will:

  • Ensure all people and plant in your care remain safe
  • Help build a positive work enviroment
  • Maintain plant performance as required by Mt Weld Operations.
  • Allocate daily work assignments including maintenance, repair, housekeeping, and administrative tasks.
  • Conduct daily workplace inspections and lead monthly safety toolbox meetings.
  • Manage contractors to ensure work scope and goals are achieved safely and efficiently.
  • Lead accident investigations and drive positive safety outcomes.
  • Liaise with all departments to coordinate mechanical maintenance requirements.
  • Always ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Provide thorough handovers to incoming supervisors and maintain effective communication across shifts.
  • Remain available on-site to respond to any plant breakdowns or critical maintenance issues.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated people leadership skills and improving workplace culture within the team
  • Demonstrated experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor in the minerals proc essing or heavy industrial sector
  • Mechanical Trade Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Valid C-Class WA Manual Driver’s Licence
