Our client is a leading architectural glass fabrication company specializing in CNC glass processing, glass tempering, polishing, and advanced manufacturing. They operate high-precision machinery and heavy industrial equipment, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and reliability.
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across CNC glass machines, polishing lines, tempering equipment, compressors, conveyors, and general plant machinery. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:
CNC glass machines (Intermac, Biesse, Skill Glass, etc.)
Glass edging/polishing lines
Tempering furnace equipment
Air compressors, pumps, dryers, filtration systems
Conveyors, motors, sensors, PLC-driven systems
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures
Conduct machine calibration, alignment, and fine-tuning
Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and service records
Support production with emergency repairs to minimize downtime
Perform equipment installations, upgrades, retrofits, and component replacements
Follow all company and Ontario safety standards (OHSA)
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers when required
Operate heavy machinery, lifting equipment, and industrial tools safely
Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability
Requirements
β+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (glass industry preferred)
Hands-on experience with CNC machinery, mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics
Skilled with tools, meters, gauges, and diagnostic equipment
Physically capable of heavy lifting, climbing, bending, and performing manual maintenance tasks
Experience with 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, and PLC-based systems
Knowledge of Ontarioβs Occupational Health & Safety Act
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or off-hours for urgent repairs
Assets (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with Neptune, Intermac, or other European CNC/glass machines
Millwright certification or relevant trade schooling
Welding or fabrication skills
Previous experience in glass or metal fabrication
