We are seeking a disciplined and detail‑oriented Management Accountant to support the Financial Controller in overseeing the financial operations of a Sydney‑based dealership. This role is a critical link between the administration department and dealership operations, requiring a professional who balances technical accounting proficiency with an understanding of the commercial drivers in the automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of accurate monthly financial statements and internal reports in compliance with statutory standards.
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily cash flow, bank reconciliations, and the control of daily cash sales.
- Business Partnership: Collaborate with department heads to analyze financial performance, assist in monthly forecasting, and identify opportunities for expenditure reduction.
- Balance Sheet Management: Complete monthly reconciliations and general ledger entries, including the management of accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
- Departmental Support: Provide leadership to the clerical team within the Administration Department and assist with audit requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Professional Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of accuracy and the ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced, multi‑faceted business.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a dedicated administration/accounting role, including at least 2 years within an automotive dealership environment.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Previous experience with ERA/Pentana is highly regarded.
- Financial Acumen: Strong problem‑solving skills and a thorough understanding of General Ledger management.
- Communication: A professional communication style suitable for engaging with the Dealer Principal, external auditors, and department managers.
- Education: Relevant accounting qualifications (degree or progress toward CA/CPA) will be looked upon favourably.
