Job Title: Accounting Manager

Location: Pune (Hybrid)
Role Purpose
- Lead and establish a high-performing General Ledger (GL) accounting team within a Finance Centre of Excellence (CoE).
- Deliver high-quality accounting and assurance support to financial controllers and accounting teams across Europe and other global regions.
- Own accurate month-end close processes and robust balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring integrity of group financial reporting.
- Drive process standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement, including support for an upcoming Oracle ERP re-implementation.
- Act as a people leader, fostering learning, development, and mentoring within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and develop a GL accounting team of 4+ members within the Finance CoE.
- Deliver consistent, high-quality accounting services and assurance support to regional and global finance teams.
- Own and manage monthly close activities, ensuring timelines, accuracy, and compliance with group standards.
- Review and ensure completion of balance sheet reconciliations with strong controls and audit-ready documentation.
- Maintain the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records and group reporting.
- Serve as a key point of contact for accounting-related queries, providing technical guidance to stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and standardisation to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
- Support and contribute to the Oracle ERP re-implementation planned in 2026.
- Partner closely with Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Audit teams to ensure alignment and strong financial controls.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of findings and implementation of corrective actions.
- Develop, maintain, and document accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, promoting accountability, learning, and high performance.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accounting professional with strong technical accounting expertise.
- Proven experience in building and leading GL accounting teams.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Strong attention to detail with a robust control and assurance mindset.
- Experience working in a Finance CoE or shared services environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with finance stakeholders across multiple geographies.
- Comfortable working in a complex, international organisation with global stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset towards automation, process improvement, and standardisation.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle; exposure to system implementation or re-implementation is an advantage.
- Strong people leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing junior talent.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and motivated to grow in a learning-focused environment.
