Overview
You are the IT leader responsible for ensuring that the Alex Lee organization has the tools and data necessary to deliver operational value and game-changing predictive analytics. Leveraging your team of IT information professionals, you establish and drive the Alex Lee data management, engineering and architecture initiatives forward to provide maximum business value. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking.
Responsibilities
1) Develop and maintain the roadmap for enterprise data platforms and Business Intelligence tools.
2) Design and maintain a robust data architecture using the Microsoft Azure data platform.
3) Collaborate with IT teams to establish and maintain data infrastructure.
4) Meet with business teams to define data integration needs for 3rd party cloud platforms and enterprise applications.
5) Design and build modern data pipelines, data streams, and data service Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
6) Collaborate on the development of data models and schemas.
7) Oversee the development and maintenance of ETL processes.
8) Optimize data integration workflows and streamline data operation activities.
9) Administer the Power BI platform, including user access, security, and licensing.
10) Provide the underlying data source connections for Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business needs.
11) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and priorities. Co-lead the Enterprise Analytics Steering Committee.
12) Work closely with business leaders to identify opportunities for data-driven insights.
13) Monitor and optimize datasets and Power BI platform performance.
14) Implement performance tuning strategies for enhanced system efficiency across data platforms.
15) Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of data-related issues in a timely manner.
16) Manage the financial aspects of the tools in the Data and BI space; responsible for achieving maximum value and minimizing the cost of tools, resources, Azure spend, etc. Provide support for budget and forecasting activities.
17) Work in unison with the Data Governance team to ensure data policies and procedures are followed and enforced.
18) Constantly track performance to plans (roadmap, projects, financial) and communicate appropriately.
19) Manage team work using sprint methodology.
20) Review and manage team source code repository.
21) Ensure that your team is performing at the highest level possible, building solutions that are scalable, reliable, portable, and maintainable.
22) Responsible for professional development and growth as needs and trends dictate.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of bachelor’s degree in technology, information services, or related curriculum and a minimum of 7 years relevant IT experience.
2. Proven experience in data management, data engineering, and strategic data architecture planning
3. Proven experience in data integrations, including 3rd party cloud platforms and applications
4. Proficient in data mapping, modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
5. Expertise in administering and developing on the Power BI platform
6. Strong understanding of data governance, security, and privacy principles and best practices
7. Experience with Microsoft Data and Analytics technologies
8. Excellent leadership and verbal communication skills
