Position Summary

The Manager is responsible for facilitating day to day patient care related activities within the Medicine and Surgery Departments at GGH. They provide daily direction to unit personnel to provide high quality, safe, evidence-based care in partnership with the patient and families and in keeping with the vision, mission and values of GGH. In collaboration with the Director, they implement initiatives that align with departmental and strategic goals and objectives of the organization.

The Manager, in collaboration with the Director, ensures they provide an environment that supports and advances professional practice, and leads clinical staff in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient centred care philosophy. They serve as role model for professional and organizational core competencies and support quality patient-care outcomes.
