Manager- MEP QS

JOB PURPOSE

The main purpose or objective of the job; and what will it contribute to the overall business of the company. Responsible for producing bills of quantities of MEP works for tendering by interpreting drawings and specifications, cost planning, estimating & and costing, clearly specifying the battery limits.

CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (Responsibilities)

• Pre-contract measurement experience
• Prepare the estimated project B.O.Q. for MEP works
• Provide a detailed Bill of Quantities (B.O.Q) for each drawing with LBD sheets
• Provide budget estimates at various design development phases.
• Preparing cost plans and rate analysis.
• Recommend acceptance, provide advice, and recommend revisions to the specification documents
• Analyse completed projects to determine ROI and compare costs
• Represent the Specification Unit and participate on committees related to specification

document development

• Write technical specifications for the MEP works according to

master format, including code compliance for new construction projects

• Performs product research; assists project designers with material selection and system

research. Co-ordination with suppliers to gather material & and service rates

• Corresponding with Consultants/Stakeholders regarding the specification/technical and
• BOQ any difference to tender requirements and raise queries for clarification.
• Maintenance and update of Approved Contractor/Supplier database
• Coordinates and reviews consultant technical specifications for conformance with public standards.
• Analyse costs for maintenance and additional building needs to arrive at LCC.

Qualification :

• Engineering Graduate in ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL
• QS certification course would be an added advantage
