About the role

The Manager, Observability leads the enterprise observability platform, spanning logging, metrics/telemetry, tracing, topology, and analytics. They empower Tech and Lab teams to monitor effectively, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, self service, and strong governance. The manager also collaborates closely with SRE leadership to broaden coverage and capabilities while consistently upholding standards and compliance.

What you'll do here:

Platform Stewardship, Standards, and Governance

  • Own platform operations and roadmap (Elastic, Dynatrace, Micro Focus, Grafana).
  • Manage capacity, cost, performance, and security.
  • Govern logging, telemetry, tracing, topology, and data lifecycle/quality.
  • Publish standards and guardrails; ensure compliance via gating and maturity checks.
  • Align governance with enterprise architecture.
  • Manage vendor relationships in collaboration with the Director.
