Manager, Platform Engineering

The Integration Platform team delivers real-time connectivity between systems, enabling fast, reliable, and compliant data movement across the McDonalds technology ecosystem.

The Opportunity:

As a Manager, Platform Engineering , you will support the real-time streaming data infrastructure across McDonalds global operations. You will help lead the design, deployment, and operational monitoring of cloud-native streaming platforms that enable real-time insights and decision-making across our enterprise.

This role is ideal for experienced platform engineers who enjoy building systems that are scalable, observable, and business-critical. Youll partner with global teams to deliver streaming solutions that integrate seamlessly across the McDonalds data landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Manage streaming platform operations and enhancements, ensuring availability, scalability, and compliance.
• Implement automation for provisioning, deployment, and monitoring of services (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Flink, etc.).
• Collaborate with platform leads, engineers, and data product owners to support real-time data use cases.
• Define platform SLAs and contribute to observability tooling and dashboards.
• Assist in enforcing platform governance including schema management, access control, and audit logging.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to documentation, internal standards, and technical leadership.

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• An over all of 7-12 years of experinec with 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps.
• Experience with streaming platforms (Apache Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub) and cloud services (preferably GCP).
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack).
