About The Strategy and Research Team
The Strategy & Research (Sn R) team is a high-impact vertical within Kamakhya Analytics. Sn R functions as the central planning, insights, client-facing and strategy unit, responsible for all aspects of the Survey Process.
Sn R will:
Engage directly with clients from onboarding to closure
Design research plans, methodologies, and execution strategies
Coordinate with Operations for flawless on-ground execution
Own the analysis and final reports delivered to clients
Lead proposal writing, pitch decks, and business development
Drive expansion into policy, governance, and non-political research sectors
You will work directly with the Head of Sn R (your hiring manager), acting as their primary pillar of support, ensuring that strategy, insights, execution planning, and client delivery happen smoothly and at high quality. This is a leadership-building role for someone who wants to shape a team and a fast-growing practice area.
About The Role
Research & Insight Leadership
Lead qualitative research design across political, policy, governance, and social-sector domains.
Conduct and oversee primary qualitative studies: IDIs, FGDs, ethnography, stakeholder interviews, journey mapping, etc.
Ensure excellence in all three insight KPIs: Data Quality, Analytical Rigor, Insightful Delivery.
Build compelling narratives, presentations, and final reports that integrate qualitative learnings with quantitative evidence.
Strategic Planning & Client Interaction
Work closely with the Head of Sn R to define research methodology, sampling strategy, and project flow before handing it to Operations.
Attend client calls, understand client needs, and translate them into actionable research frameworks.
Provide on-going strategic inputs during project execution and ensure research objectives are met.
Project Ownership & Coordination
Act as the analytical bridge between client goals and operations execution.
Monitor progress, guide field-related qualitative aspects, and ensure the research strategy is being followed.
Own the final analysis, interpretation, and report-building stages for all qualitative deliverables.
Business Development & Proposals
Support in creating proposal documents, pitch decks, and concept notes for prospective clients.
Help identify new opportunities in political, policy, administrative, and non-political sectors.
Craft insightful BD narratives based on case studies, research methodologies, and past learnings.
Team & Practice Development
Provide guidance to junior researchers, analysts, and field moderators on qualitative best practices.
Contribute to building Sn R’s identity, processes, and methodological excellence.
Introduce and adopt new-age qualitative tools such as digital diaries, semiotics, design-thinking techniques, observational studies, etc.
Key Responsibilities
Experience
3–5+ years of experience in Primary Qualitative Research, with proven ability to manage studies end-to-end.
Proficiency in multiple qualitative methodologies:
IDIs, FGDs, ethnography, expert interviews, projective techniques, etc.
Experience presenting insights to clients or senior stakeholders.
Experience in social, political, policy, governance, or citizen-centric research is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Strong strategic thinking and ability to structure insights meaningfully.
Excellent communication: written, verbal, and presentation.
Ability to work in high-ownership roles with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
Proficiency in English, Hindi, and at least one additional Indian language, to
support multi-state research and field coordination.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with leadership.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Sociology, Anthropology Psychology, Political Science, Public Policy, Development Studies, Marketing Research, or related fields.
