About the Role:

Manager, Software Engineering Data Operations leads a team of software developers responsible for supporting 24x7 triage, building and maintaining systems, platforms, and tools that enable operational reliability, automation, and compliance across T-Mobiles Data Operations Center of Excellence. This role manages the development and delivery of software solutions for both internal and external business customers, partnering with technology and product leaders to define technical strategies that align with organizational goals. The Manager fosters a collaborative, cross-functional culture with high accountability, technical depth, and influence-driven leadership and team performance. This role enables efficient, scalable technology solutions that drive timely business outcomes and customer satisfaction.

What Youll Do:

• Lead, coach, and develop a software engineering team to deliver Data Ops projects on time and within budget
• Drive improvements in development practices, automation, and operational excellence for data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure)
• Manage performance, career development, and day-to-day execution for a team of software engineers
• Oversee technical vendor relationships to influence product features and ensure alignment with technical requirements
• Partner with technology and product stakeholders to align technical strategy with business priorities
• Recruit, onboard, and retain qualified engineering talent to strengthen team capabilities
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions that meet business needs and compliance standards
• Foster a collaborative, influence-driven team culture with high individual accountability and technical depth

What Youll Bring:

• Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 1114 years of relevant software engineering experience, or an advanced degree with equivalent experience
• Extensive experience leading or managing software engineering teams in data operations or analytics environments
• Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills
• Experience working in analytics, business intelligence, and compliance-driven development environments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while driving execution and accountability
• Experience with compliance, governance, automation, and operational reliability

Must Have Skills:

• Proven experience managing or supervising software engineering teams of 15 or more developers
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities
• Experience with analytics and business intelligence systems and platforms
• Database and data integration experience, including ETL processes
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure , Databricks, Snowflake) -
• Experience with modern data platforms and automation -
• Strong software documentation and communication skills
• Proficiency with programming languages such as Python OR Java OR Node.Js
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies (RDBMS, T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
• Ability to foster a collaborative, accountable, and technically deep team culture

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Teradata, SAP HANA, or Hadoop, modern GPT tools
• Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint
• Experience working in complex enterprise data environments
• Exposure to vendor management in large-scale technology organizations
• Cloud or platform certifications
