The Mental Health Commission’s vision is for Western Australians to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. The Commission has recently established a dedicated Office for Alcohol and Other Drugs to drive inter‑agency coordination and strengthen sector relationships, improving outcomes for alcohol and other drug policy, programs and services.
About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic applicants for the role of Manager, Strategic Policy in the Office of Alcohol and Other Drugs. The role is responsible for leading, developing and implementing key strategy, policy and planning initiatives and projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to reduce harms from alcohol and other drugs.
The occupant must recognise a commitment to focussing on the needs of the individual, their families, carers and advocates working in partnership for better alcohol and other drug outcomes and improved mental health.
Responsibilities
• Lead the development and implementation of strategic policy initiatives related to alcohol and other drugs. • Coordinate partnerships with government, communityence and academic sectors. • Facilitate planning and project management to support system‑wide reforms. • Report on progress and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.

This selection process will initially fill the above vacancy. Suitable applicants may be considered for other similar vacancies within 12 months of the recruitment decision. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/6/2026.
