Manager, Systems Software

General Characteristics Responsible for managing the programming, administration and support activities for the enterprise’s operating systems that may reside on multiple platforms.

Has a high level understanding of operating systems and foundation architecture.

Accountable for operating systems software selection and development and continued maintenance of such systems to improve efficiencies.

Develops departmental standards and procedures including systems programming standards and program documentation requirements.

Defines and monitors multiple projects, provides technical and administrative supervision.

Must interface with members of the IT and user community to coordinate activities relating to the implementation of new software.

Provides technical consultation and support to users and other IT staff.
