Our client is a boutique market research consultancy with a global reputation for delivering bespoke research projects that demonstrate world-class thinking in research, marketing, and business strategy. Their client base includes many of the world’s top multi-national businesses from a variety of industries.


The Role

We are seeking a visionary Managing Director (or Country Manager) to lead India operations. You will be responsible for an organization of approximately 140–150 employees with an annual revenue of US$4–5m.


Core Responsibilities

  • Business Development : New client acquisition to grow market capital for the organsation
  • Strategic Planning: Create annual plans and budgets according to the mid- to long-term vision of the India business.
  • P&L Ownership: Prepare, obtain approval for, and monitor the annual budget while maximizing revenue flows and minimizing fixed costs.
  • Performance Management: Set organizational KPIs, ensuring they are properly communicated throughout the organization so each staff member understands their value.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Represent the company in negotiations with customers, government departments, and local authorities to secure the most effective contract terms.
  • Innovation & Quality: Develop and maintain leading-edge research techniques to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the industry.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and control resources to ensure the recruitment and retention of high-quality talent, keeping the team motivated and trained.
  • Compliance: Oversee accounting, legal, and regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and equal opportunity policies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role with full P&L accountability.
  • Experience managing large, multi-functional teams (100+ people).
  • Strong industry background in market research, marketing, or business strategy consultancy.
  • Ability to design bespoke approaches rather than recycling standard methods.
  • Expertise in communicating complex data through visual harmony and relatable stories.
