Dimensional Engineering / Quality Engineer – Job Description
This role is responsible for reviewing automotive parts to ensure all dimensional requirements meet fit, function, and quality standards within the body shop. The engineer will create and maintain standardized part‑inspection templates using dimensional analysis software, primarily leveraging GD&T and PolyWorks (training available). The position requires analyzing and validating build‑event parts, providing actionable feedback to manufacturing and product‑design teams, and conducting dimensional studies to resolve launch‑related issues for both new and existing programs.
A typical workday includes attending daily safety and quality meetings, inspecting assembly areas for potential quality concerns, reviewing previous‑shift defect data, scrap reports, and First Time Quality (FTQ) performance.
