Role Overview
A Marine Superintendent is a senior shore-based maritime professional responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of vessels under the company’s care. This role acts as a key liaison between the vessel (Master and officers), the ship management office, external regulators (flag/port state), classification societies, oil majors, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Compliance Oversight
- Monitor assigned vessels for compliance with international maritime regulations , flag state and port state requirements, and company policies (e.g., ISM, ISPS, MLC).
- Plan, coordinate, and follow up on class surveys , external audits, internal audits, and periodic statutory inspections; ensure closing of non-conformities through electronic reporting systems.
