WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Marketing Data Analyst will contribute to and help socialize our understanding of audience engagement with The Nature Conservancy across marketing driven touch points. This role will use R and SQL, to make new discoveries within our data and to build and maintain reports, models, and dashboards. The Marketing Data Analyst will examine and unify data from disparate sources (web, email, social media, financial, etc.) to tell the full story of Marketing's impact on our organizational mission. They will support a variety of internal teams through analytics deep dives, uncovering insights, making recommendations, and verifying data integrity to make data understandable and actionable to the Marketing team.

As the Marketing Data Analyst, you will:

  • Provide key marketing insights by manipulating and analyzing large data sets from a variety of sources, using tools like R and SQL.
  • Build and maintain automated data pipelines that combine disparate data sets into meaningful aggregated metrics for key Marketing stakeholders.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and refinement processes. Diagnose and resolve coding and database-related issues through data analysis.
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement through data analytics.
  • Develop documentation throughout the entire analytic life cycle of each project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate marketing data with other business systems and processes.
  • Analyze data for trends and patterns and interpret data with clear objectives in mind.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new tools and technologies to enhance data capabilities.

    The ideal candidate will have all or some of the following qualifciations. If you don't have all of them, apply anyways and tell us about your skills and experience:

  • Strong scripting and programming skills using R and/or Python, particularly experience building packages and/or automated data ETLs.
  • Experience with software versioning tools like Git or Bitbucket.
  • Experienced in the fundamentals of big data and relational database models.
  • Cloud programming experience, in particular AWS SageMaker, S3, and Athena.
  • Strong analytical, investigation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve data integrity issues that impact the overall analysis, as well as methods to make scripts more efficient.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management systems, particularly Blackbaud.
  • Experience working with donation or other financial transaction data.
  • Experience creating and maintaining documentation around analytics development in a shared Wiki space such as Confluence.
  • Experience with Restful APIs, including how to retrieve data and load on a cloud database.
  • Ability to balance work across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related field and 1-year progressive experience in an IT field or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in SQL.
  • Experience with PC operating system and hardware, office productivity/graphics software and desktop utilities, handheld computing devices, printers, scanners and other peripherals as well as LAN/WAN technologies.

    SALARY INFORMATION

    This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times. For U.S. based applicants only, the starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $50,000 – 81,000 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. For all other applicants, pay ranges will be in local currency, the pay range will be based on the local labor market, and not tied to the above pay range. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual pay range. Additionally, for all applicants, actual pay will fall within a range based on a variety of factors including, for example, the candidate’s qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
